Fast Jumping or P Jumping

I'll have to check on that then. Strange though, as I have tried to achieve a long jump many times and it would stop me as the smallest step slows you down due to a sv_bounce -1000.

try it on a simple map, like dm training..

I don't think that testing it on a map that was laid out for bunny hopping training is useful to test these commands. As I said many times before, I doubt there are any kind of commands that disable bunny hopping completely whilst not affecting the normal movements. The commands I posted before make it harder to bunny hop and disable ones that give tactical advantages. For that, they should be tested on default maps on in order to find for example spots on which the commands do not do their job well.

If i play i can usually find problems with the gameplay with edited commands :wink: maybe we shud all get 2getha and try out all of our suggestions? :grin:

Ok its not possible to completely stop pjumping. so then just compromise
If u just put airaccelerate between 3-4 pjumping without grapple is next to impossible(only with shooting in back etc..) and pjump over flag and continue pjumping is impossible(office, rome at least) and the game play is ok i guess u can still move a bit in the air and stuff... i think that is a good option.

Pjump is the biggest bug i have ever seen in any game...
On the one hand pjump ruins this game, but on the other hand it keeps NF alive...
This game isn't about shooting, its just jump jump jump jump...
I prefer if pjump will be banned from the NFBL and all servers, but i doubt if this is possible, removing grapples isnt an option anymore either, some ppl can pjump without anything...
i cant pjump very well and i wont learn it either.

i played in one server where you could no pjump... they made the gravity lower or higher which ever it was, i didnt pay attention to it....you jumped just as high as you normally would but you could not pjump at all...just letting you no, dont get mad or argue with me i am just telling you what i have noticed works against pjumping

Gravity doesnt affect p-jump, I can still p-jump from about -300 gravity to 2000 ish

What can I say....I must I don't agree with pjump .Not because it ruins the game because it doesnt(at least for me not) but I think it's used just for fast getaways.Instead of fighting they run with the flag so they cant be hurt/hit...But you can kill them if they aren't so good at it..Pjumpers can be stoped if you looked at their moves closely ...Most of them have a jump pattern so you know where to shoot.I have used it 1 day and it was enough..It wasn't fun just jumping around and getting flags and jumping back home...To easy.no effort needed....I suggest all those who love pjump should try fighting more instead of running with the flag.

I use pjump too, I joined the game when pjumping already existed, I thought it was normal. I played once a scrim against Madam ( I believe its Nicky) and Adam ;), Nicky was host, I pjumped, and after some time, I didnt knew what he did, but he did something that i couldnt pjump anymore.

I agree with blo when he said how p-jumping is the worst bug he'd ever seen in a game. But... (even though I am against it) maybe EA designed it this way so that it cant be blocked? :shock:

Or maybe they were in such a rush that they couldn't even be bothered to test it properly (if at all)... Noobs... :razz:

i think they discovered p jumping during testing, but couldnt be bothered to fix it/kept it in as a secret but then added lots of grapples (and the shoe power up maybe?) to make it more of a feature.

i think this because some of the grapple placements in maps are just completely pointless/stupid unless they were put there for p jumpers..

and as for adding the shoe power up.. depends on whether you consider 4 a more round number then 5 :P

Powerjumping is a problem that is known to exist, with various degrees of speeds, since Quake 1 in all games using the Quake and GoldSRC engine untill Quake 4. (Please correct me if I am wrong but this is what I know so far)..

I don't really know WHY they never bothered to remove it from the games before Quake 4 and Source games and since Nightfire is just a MOD for Half-Life 1, Gearbox did, of course, not go that deep into the code just to change that. If they did care enough about the game, they would have changed a lot more, next to removing bunny hopping.
