is there ne way to find out who crashed

Postby Sagen on Sat Apr 24, 2004 4:24 pm

i get crashed quite alot and im usually inside the game playing too. So when the game does crash i don't kno until i lag out and stuf so i havto look thru the logs and stuf but it doesn't say who crashed nothing not even something like..
player blah blah spawn scuba suit so is there some way to figure out who did it exactly without having to stay at the server window

for instance it just crashed while i was typing this and i can't even go by who may have been #### off because i never stated the rules

Unfortunately there is no way in telling who crashes servers by looking at the server log unless the player makes it really obvious when they say things. Sometimes you can pick on things, like when powerups are spawned and you know some one had the real one before hand. If you are running a cheat server it makes it even harder for obvious reasons, if you know enough players you could always set up a password game, which doesn't make it as fun, but apart from that there is not a lot of things you can do.

Assuming that the last person who entered was the crasher, sounds foolish to me. Don't make assumptions without proof. And as 009 says, there are very limited ways of getting such proof.

Get over it and start a new game or install the no-cheat (/rocket/grenade/..) patch.

I had the same problem when my server allowed cheats. Most of the time it was overspawning of power-ups or vests that caused it to overload. But when someone is obviously spawning a power-up on a regular matched game, I wait it out and keep checking IPs when the game restarts. Eventually, one stands out as always joining the game right before it is intentionally crashed.
