CS:S Mod?

Postby herbius on Thu Jun 12, 2008 7:19 am

Been looking at some of Ulti's new screenshots lately (Ulti, if you have them please post them here) which show some Half Life 2 and Counter Strike: Source models that have been converted to work in Nightfire. I was wondering if we got all of them converted, maybe I/we/anyone else interested could make a CS:S mod? I have all the sounds, models etc. having Counter Strike myself. Maybe we could even improve the HL2 mod for Nightfire by changing some of the guns to HL2 ones, some of the player models etc?

Let me know what you think. Personally I think it's awesome

yeah, a cs;s mod would be cool.. specially if you got dyna in with it, and get him to make some more cs;s maps to be released with the mod..

Tomato Ketchup

I didn't realise I hadn't subscribed to this...ah well, I'll fix that now.

Ulti, does the version of your model converter that I currently have convert Source models as well? I could do a bit of experimenting and see what happens.

no, it will cough up an error sayin v10 triangles are not valid or somin... ford has built in v44 SMD/QC conversion, vertex sequence SMD file won't be compiled tho but not many sauce models use that if any lol

i have spotted a large bug with v11-v14 conversion but that wont be seen to until ford comes back (in at least a weeks time), nor will the new version of my gui which will support v44 models

i tried to convert some hl models with ultis convert tool and it seems to work,
but gearcraft cant show it regular, they are in the definition file not included.
in future toujane gets an >> defuse<< modification,
its easy doing, i need only cool models to explode

Gearcraft only reads v11 models that are placed in nightfire\bond\maps\models and NF only reads v14 models that are placed in nightfire\bond\models, adding one of those versions in the incorrect folder causes bond\gearcraft to crash, so watch out

It's rather simple to check, open it in a hex editor and read the value of the set of 4 bytes after offset 4, that's the version

Yeh, but not everyone here knows how/can be bothered to do that.
