| NFBL should like make a one vs one ladder. I know Gamespy did that and it was a lot of fun, it got people more active |

Getting hosts for 2 matches at the same time is already a hard thing to arrange, how are we supposed to get enough hosts for all the players in the 1 vs 1 ladder.. _________________ I Used to be scyzofrenic, But We're okay now :)

NFBL is a league for clan vs. clan. It would be nice to have a 1 vs. 1 competition too, but I don't think it has to be NFBL who runs it. If we were to make a 1 on 1 ladder, it would be like starting from scratch with everything. It would be as much work for us as it would be for anyone else.
In other words, I don't think it NFBL has to be responsible for arranging the competition, anyone who is interested can set it up. Like we said to Mitch (who arranged the ladder under GSA's flag), we don't think it should fall within NFBL, but we don't mind helping out while setting it up. If anyone is interested in arranging it, please go ahead and we try to help with any questions
How about you arranging it? _________________ Steal a little and they throw you in jail,

The gamespy ladders weren't succesfull... People just signed in for the tournaments cuz you could win prices like 4 weeks VIP.
The ladder was not organised at all... I received 2 times a price by playing 1 match...
A 1on1 ladder can be fun to play in when the set-up + organisation of the tournament is good. We (nfbl staff) just don't got time for it but like macky said: Any1 who is intrested to do it and want to put a lot of time for it, can count on our support... _________________ There is only 1 n00b in nf and thats Suppan00b

I never liked 1on1 ladders... the matches seem a bit personal so it feels as though ur becoming enemies rather than friends... I agree about the GSA ladders, they're often very VERY short notice and completely unorganised. 1 example being a few nights ago when [Guard]Comu said that there was gona b one and anyone who wanted to play should enter /me ME! ... It was very late and few people were interested, there were no real hosts (except me... and even then i was hosting NFBL). So yea... not very organised if at all _________________ Pop goes the sniper! :-)

well i tried to host a knox2 tournament, and it is very hard to organize things like that. the main mistakes i made were organizing it with diablo, who hates nf, and having matches between americans and euros, so was impossible to get people together at a time when they could both play. _________________ Flies Spread Disease - Keep Yours Zipped.

so you'd need two ladders, one for europe/asia and one for the americas...you'd also need a server and preferably, the same server that hosts the website hosts the games...that way, the server can literally control all aspects of the tournament including passwording the servers reserved for 1vs1...players would go to the server to say they are ready for a match, the server issues them a password, they join and play, and when it is over, they both report back to the server with who won and any extra comments for review (like lag was an issue or things of that sort)...if the logs and what aboth player are in agreement as to who won, the ladder is updated...if there is any disagreement, the information needs to be reviewed and determined who won or require a rematch (maybe always require a rematch)...this means little to no human involvement besides getting it going in the first place...
an added bonus to the server hosting both is that it can keep track of player stats and update them as new stats become available...that way, players can relatively easily see who is their equal |
