i think you misunderstood me...i deal with binary and ascii files, not the actual artistry of things...i can convert nightfire models to a format supported by the source engine as long as i know what is required in qc/smd files

That's a step foward anyway. It'll mean we can have a few player characters, albeit not really polished unless other modellers can clean things up a bit.

I've just had an idea. Could we maybe have that old guy sitting in the truck on the Austria mission as a player character? I once tried swapping MI6 Stealth's face with the old guy's, the result was rofl but rather good.

I think Tras has some way to do that, too. But in case we need help with that we'll get back to you.

I got the user permissions of our forums right. Registered users should be able to post in the Community Area (including Job Applications) now.

Ah, I have remembered a vital thing: is NF:S going to have blood? As far as I know, none of the Bond games ever had blood (bar GE64's crappy vertex colouring ) and have never needed them, so I'm working on hard coding blood out of my mod like in Nightfire. Plus, HL2:DM, TF2 etc have copious amounts of the stuff which I find rather disgusting, so I install noblood patches for that sort of stuff. Lowers it from 15+ to 12+ anyway.

holy #### batman!

yeh, my nightfire model studio should be able to decompile all models and tres' map decompiler should be a little more accurate seeings as the old one was almost too inaccurate to even be called a decompiler?
i wont annoy u any more tres, i kno u did what u could with the little time u had

Trouble is that if u do that, more people will leave the current game to play it in the source engine? and im sure it wont allow p-jump so i might swap

catty u h8 me =(... can i hav ur MSN?

Lol why you insult the decompiler in that way? the old decompiler decompiled the maps entirely, but not using optimized algorythms. Anyways other decompilers work much worse than mine, btw, I think you should have made some "quality" programs before evaluating a program that it is not yours.

About your Nightfire Model Studio that is able to "decompile" all models, remember that your program is just a mask of Ford's program.

Oh, and if you wanna talk about the mod with Pencat, he would be pleased if you did through the Nightfire: Source forum

bsp decompilers are a mess because when the map is originally compiled, brushes lose their depth...decompilers, therefore, have to create depth that doesn't exist in the first place...it's never easy...ford refuses to make one because of this and because he feels it unnecessary...be happy someone stepped up to the plate and don't mock it unless you know how to improve it...

yes tres but so is your decompiler

but at least i know the MDL structure that i'm dealing with so i know the problems that it may encounter

well its both ford and 005 that were saying that it isnt that hard... just takes time, could copy the SDK of another decompiler and i wasnt mocking tres

So is my decompiler? Do you mean that someone made that program for me, lol?. Oh and there's no "SDK" of bsp decompilers and if it existed, it would be useless because nightfire's bsp structure is really different.

You can say that again. Other decompilers give me hell when they try to decompile/read/interpret NF .bsp files. Hopefully the new l33t compiler will make it easier to port Nightfire maps to Source.

Ulti, I wouldn't mock Tres if I were you, even unintentionally, since we wouldn't have made half the progress we have without him.

Not really, as far as I can tell. I'm working on maps for Refraction but there's no other active people on our team so it's a bit slow. Unless you'd like to join?

As in picture backgrounds or music? I'd probably need both actually. Maybe PM me what you have and I'll take a look at them.
