Yeah, but that's not really a mind-blowing problem prohibiting us from making progress with nightfire .mdls.

Maybe in Refraction, I don't think NF capabilities stretch quite that far. You could change the light_env value from time to time maybe...

who is the first guy who started viewing NF MDLs in GC? and found/decoded most of the file structure? moi

rofl ok... thats not possible im pretty sure about that, the lighting is written to the BSP file and only changes for each on/off light, any face which has contact with light from 4 or more on/off lights appears black so u cant do it gradually using loooads of light entities  .

Reload a whole new map every 10 mins... I don't think many people would be happy about that...

Although, if the lighting data was somehow swapped it might be do-able, but I think lightmaps are stored with the .bsp so unless Ulti can use his l33t skills on BSP it might not be possible.

it could be done but it would most likely require an application running in the background that modifies nightfire's memory directly...that not only would take a lot of work, it would also have poor performance...not worth it

Yeah, just play MoH if you want that feature. I'm not too fond of war games myself, I like to stick with Bond games as I don't like to glorify war and the Bond games are generally better in terms of storyline and funniness. The only war-type game I have sort of liked is CoD4, which I owned my friend on. Guns sound crap though. :(

Edit: w00t, I just realised, 100th post which happened to be in my own thread.
