yes i've had a record of 6 ronins in the dm_island bunker george :p but nvm that

and i can show you enough ways to "easily" get a flag in ctf_tower, even with ronins..

and yes ronins are still aimbots, althought you cant pick an aim spot.. and IF it goes nfbl ill make you a nc soundmod :p :cool:

@ zero do u really think the other team will just run at 4 enemy ronins? the idea is that they take time to turn around to shoot you, in that time you could have taken a hotshot at them and hidden back behind a wall ready to strike again :razz:

It is nice to see a discussion about the subject, because it's been a while since it was discussed the last time.

The increased strategies argument is not so good, because ronins would limit the gameplay too... It sometimes acts as a 5th player, so there are less demands on the 4 real ones = less need for strategy.

In maps like romania, you can put a lot of ronins at the base and they can be placed in ways it's not possible to take them out with e.g. sniper from distance from a single place, before the defenders have killed you.

It is not possible (atm?) to limit ronins to 1 per team, because it would be impossible to let players take that responsibility. It's impossible to detect in server-log if a team has more then 1 active ronin. If it was up to players in servers to make sure no team uses more then 1 ronin, it would never work. It would also create a lot of arguing during the matches.

There is not really any good things about allowing ronins into NFBL atm, at least not in my eys as no arguments have been very good (yet). Maybe if it's possible to limit, via server-settings, to 1 ronin/team, it's intresting to look at again.

@ zero - the idea is that you use your eyes/ears to see/hear other players approaching :shock:

@ macky - i thought it was possibile to detect the amount of ronins per team... meh, tres is in to nightfire memory hacking now so dont be too unsure :grin:

i think it is probably best to limit ronins to 1 per team, then its more sensible to place ronins in the middle of the maps as then only one team can get it until they're overthrown by the other team, that way the amount of ronins pr. team is kinda limited :razz:

then why do you want ronins, because then you dont need to do anything, the ronin alerts you when someones close, and then you kill them while theyre trying to kill your noob canon ;z

OK I dont know if this is a discussion only for NFBL or for the whole game...Because the title says "to the game"
I read some of your opinions and everybody has its own opinion...
Ronins are a good method to train your agility and your strategy and your aim...
But I dont think that in CTF games it would be that useful even if you put it cause most players pjump over it whatsoever...so its the same...The ronin would make it more difficult if the players wouldnt pjump all the time and they would start shooting left or right and they would also havef to defeat a ronin which is pretty funny and cool.
In DM matches it would be the same but there arent any flags so they might not pjump so much .... so the ronin would be more useful

agility is actually the ability to change direction quickly, not to move in one direction at speed.

its not really about mouse sensitivity, its more about pressing direction keys to dodge bullets lol..

and no, i dont think there is a hax for 2 or more ronins
