NFBL Stats

I believe the Nightfire Script records the console read-outs and maybe the NFBL can get a few people or a committee to make stat pages for Individual players. The stats could include a K/D Ratio, Flags Capture and a Win/Lose Ratio. Microsoft Excel would be great for it.

The plan is that server hosts would send in their Nightfire scripts and a committee could exam them and record the statistics. I would help if we could get a bunch of people together.

How isn't it related? NFBL is a league, right? Statistics on the league for clans and clan members.

The new NFBL Site (That's the nfbl.com one with loads of php coding to be added) will have lots of stats, but mostly for Clans as totals e.g DS 203 matches played, 1543 frags etc . For individual matches we should be able to view such stats for players, but to keep records for individual players they would have to keep the exact same names. Changing once in a while i.e changing clans or how they display their names could be done on request, but if players changed them each week it would get messy.

its a nice idea.. but im not sure if there enough people to do it.. maybe you could get the nfbl hosts to send all the stuff to you and you could do it? :D and thats if the nfbl hosts can be bothered lol ;p

They could probably care less, I could make a Spreadsheet and I can make sure no one has tampered with anything by checking "Last modified at" section.

Plus, we'd have to make it...mandatory for all nightfire matches and if they need to change their name, maybe, they could somehow tell us.

well although it may not be completely reliable or accurate, you could just make the site off screenshots... that way you could already start off the ss on clan sites, and it might make some people stay in servers till the end (if they have a decent score) and you could collect the ss of gsa or again clansites. means you dont have to rely on other people to do stuff? ;p

This is what the NFBL Log processor puts out from the logs. It will give you some idea what we can do with logs/stats on the site when it's all done.

well flag captures appear in the normal nf console, so i assume theres a way to get them into a dedicated server window?

DSS2 in NFBL-mode is automatically sending all logs to NFBL, so accessing logs is not a problem any longer.

I agree having stats for all matches is interesting. It's something we'd like to do sometime, just like a lot of other things. You are right, it is quite a lot of work to collect and process the logs, as well as updating a site. However, I'm sure a lot of the work can be done via scripts and programs.

OO9's program is good and I know Pencat put a lot of work on a log-processor as well, but I'm not sure if it's finished or not.

I can't tell how much work it would be to make stats possible, but if there is someone interested of putting the needed time every week, maybe it can be done.

and if han solo and maybe a helper or two were to do it on a seperate site (maybe tres could give them a glovi-network?) then nfbl admins dont need to worry about doing even more work or trusting other people with site passwords.. and you could just put a link to the site on www.nfbl.com ;P
