opening the ports is very dangerous, it will open your pc + internet to hackers and its not adviced to do this.

if you decide to do it you should open up these ports:
-6550
-26005
-26015
-26025
-26026 ( only needed for hosting a dss2 server )

you can find how to do it on http://nightfire.dutch-union.nlbut i think its a dutch site..

Opening ports is dangerous if you got some trojan client installed in your computer, there are other problems like the Blaster worm for Windows XP.
Only check that the ports that you open will be only used by Nightfire, and check also that you don't have any virus or trojan in your computer.

By the way, I only need to open these ports to host:
6550 (Query port)
26015 (Game port)
26026 (DSS2)
All UDP.

If you don't know how to configure your router, try this page:

Why you hid the address? it's local and we know it is 192.168.0.1
Anyway, we already said you got to open TWO PORTS at least for getting a nf server to work.
so add them in the list like that :
App name Port Range Protocol IP address
NF 1 6550-6550 UDP look below
NF 2 26015-26015 UDP look below

the IP address must be the same that appear in your control panel -> Network connections -> and the network adapter you use to connect to Internet. It must be like 192.168.0.x

I'm going to be hosting from my laptop. So do I put the IP adress of my laptop or the IP adress of my other computer?
