DSS2 and NFBSP Client are mandatory!

From November 24th will NFBL make the Dedicated Server Script 2 (DSS2) mandatory for all NFBL-servers. This is made to patch various cheats. DSS2 servers in secure mode require the player to use NFBSP Client when connecting to the server. As a consequence, all hosts need to download and install DSS2 and all players need to download and install NFBSP Client.

Both programs are made by Tres who has adapted his programs to NFBL’s requirements.

hmm... i prefer to use my script but i think i can make an exception for the NFBL... good to be able to use all 4 differing server settings for personal and public use rather than for NFBL

We will not allow any alternative server scripts then DSS, as servers need to be in secure mode. There are other good server scripts, but DSS is currently the best option for NFBL and we will make no exceptions.

I'm not the one who should be worried, because Ulti has been banned for this reason in the past, but still doesn't seem to have learnt to stay ON-TOPIC.


And yes, we hope to be able to make it more Fair-play now. I don't think it's possible to make it 100% fair-play, because people in general tend to enjoy finding ways of gaining advantages. However, this is one (maybe just first?) step for a more fair-play leauge.

I don't know technical details, so I can't answer for the exact reasons. All TECHNICAL issues are dealt with in the DSS sub-section of the forum where Tres and others can help.

It's all hosts responsibility to make sure their server is working. I guess there will be problem first weekend, but we sort is somehow. Finding another host should be possible, or postpone one or two matches.

Seems that some hosts dont know how u to use the DSS2 program correctly for NFBL.

Maybe its possible to make a thread inhere somewhere that helps people to setup theyre server for NFBL with some screenshots.
