Problem With NF

Hey hi guys,

I quitted NF some while ago but suddenly I got bored so I wanted to test my NF again because I wanted to film a bit ... well, after I installed NF again, and tried to launch it, an error occured, something with System Failure [ blabla bytes ], dont remember the whole error, maybe Tres does because he helped me with it but didnt work.
And because Tres didnt know how to solve this I stopped with trying launching nf for some weeks, then - after some weeks yah - I reinstalled NF and tried to launch NF again, now there's no error anymore but NF just dont launch, I get a black screen and suddenly im at Windows again, very weird.
Recently I have installed a new Harddisk in my PC, maybe could this be the problem( And oh yeah, I installed NF at my C: drive )

can you describe what else you see after the screen turns black? do you see an error with 'bond.exe crashed'. or nothing at all?

Did i say im coming back? i just wanted to play nf again because i was as bored as a Tres without a p#n#s..

Anyways, I took a look at the links you gave me, George, and none of them really got my problem, the last link you gave me almost got the same problem as me, i had the system failure error, now i just get a black screen, and no I dont have an old pc, i got it for like 1 year . . only thing that changed after i uninstalled NF 5 months ago is that I got a new harddisk, thats all ( 160 gb )

i had that problem twice...
1. if you have vnc (video lan codec) running in background, your nf wont start
2. if you dont have the video codec for the nf movies, your nf wont start

hmm i cant remember the name of the video codec, i hope i can find it somewhere on my pc (i am at work atm, will take a look later) you can ask macky or sum1 i bet they know what codec i am talking about

1.Try installing Indeo Video codec
2.Unninstall NF and video card driver
3 (related to 2).Reinstall first video card latest driver and then NF
4.Also see if DirectX is ok and has no errors (try to reisnatll it anyway)

lol freaxo, vnc doesnt prevent you from playing nf? i have vnc running 24/7, even some1 on it and it still launches.. so i doubt that can be a problem. btw blo, you added -heap 36 -heap 256 to your autoexec? it might just work, cuz you can get that system error ( ye i know you fixed it, but just to be sure ) with new maps, like dm_colonyhotel

sry not vnc but vlc (i wrote video lan codec afterwards so i thought its clear ^^) its the best media player if you ask me, it even plays .bin files which usually need to be burned or given into a virtual drive first...
