how to make a mod?

Discussion about Nightfire Modifications (Mods).

If you open the sprite files up in notepad, you can see how they work and edit them.

If I remember right there is a line for the .png file, so you can make a new sprite texture if you want. The other lines are for the behaviour of the spirit.

A player called Philip has created a program, the Nightfire Sprite Studio. It is very handy as it can convert gifs and other formats to sprites, but I'm sorry because I don't have the link of it :P

muscle flash?

you mean muzzle flash?

those are just .png pics with names like muzzleflash2001 or muzzleflash6001 in your C:\Program Files\EA Games\Nightfire\bond\sprites\textures folder..

Proper Mod

Postby Philip on Fri Aug 17, 2007 10:40 am

To make a proper mod for nightfire you really need the BOND SDK then you wud simply run nightfire with params -game gamefolder. I have a program called Nightfire Sprite Studio which edits and creates sprites. Also a seperate tool comes with it that converts GIFs to PNGs and creates a list so that you can open that list up in the Sprite Studio and generate a sprite. Textures are not packed into the sprite it self so you will need to place the sprite in the textures directory in the sprites folder. 1 sprite will support up to 255 textures for a animated sprite. Sprites only support pngs
