NFBL EU , NA Servers

Hey NFBL members such as admins and others,
today i noticed that the servers NFBL so kidnly provides for NorAmerican servers arent as good as the ones they have for European servers. For this matter {WAR} members think that we should try to fix that because it would be the same disadvantage for us american clans to play on the servers you provide. Im not proposing to let American be their own hosts BUT to get a player from NFBL Community from the clan or other clan that is willing to lend the server in order to get the proper advantage such as euros do on the servers we are going to play. For example, if 4 players from a clan are in the match, in the roster to be on it and there's a player on the clan or outside the clan who is not gonna play he could host the server (wich i think could be a lot better than nfbl providing) with the rules and settings NFBL has submitted. In order to not be still with a disadvantage on the servers we play for our matches. Then its the same thing as just going and play a euro servers when an American Clan submits a challenge. Well get screwed with the lag because of the quality of the server

That is an excellent point, Theli. The NFBL currently only has one American host, and this host is unreliable ping-wise. I know of several American clans (WAR, VS, and CV-Boss) with excellent servers. Perhaps an exploratory effort to find new hosts should be enacted by the NFBL. Since the NFBL values fairness and fun gaming, I know this will be taken care of :).

When you want to host NFBL matches then just mail 009 to become NFBL hosts. I know that theli/neo means about "the cv-boss hosts the VS attacking gammeprime match" but he isn't a NFBL host. I gave cv-boss 009 his mailadress and asked him or he would like to be NFBL host. Then you have 2 americans servers in NFBL. I don't agree with that the current NFBL usa server is sux. like theli says --> In order to not be still with a disadvantage on the servers we play for our matches. It is good server with 200 ping for dutchies. and normall pings for USA players. when u dont like that server then tell the usa hosts u know to become NFBL host or just use euro servers.

007bond007's Server is a good server and we have been using that for a while now. Sometimes there is a bit of lag but that's no different to the servers that are played on in Europe. The other week there had to be a rematch because of bad lag, I'm sorry about that, but that was down to 007bond007 forgetting about the match being played and doing something else on his PC , it's not ideal but it happens, I've bodged up on occasions and forgot to start it in the past too .

To be honest I'm not surprised there was a bit of lag for some of the WAR players in the match you are referring too as the server is in Canada and the 4 WAR players where from the Netherlands, UK, Mexico and NJ USA. I thought the pings where quite good though considering where you where all connecting from. For me I would say the lag was more to do with location of the players than the host it's self.

The Really Good servers we have in Europe are provided by Bier and Nokia who are very generous in letting us use them, as Servers are their business, so have high spec system's, with high bandwidth both down and up. The other Hosts we use in Europe also have good PC's and connection but these are just bedroom rigs.

When we where setting up the NFBL only servers we did look at other N.American hosts, one declined, one said yes and we did not ask the others in the end as we only needed one at the time. Now that WAR have returned to the NFBL and also SDC want to play again, we will be looking for more N.American hosts as they will be needed.

There where lots of reasons we went to NFBL only Servers but the main one was so that we can have greater control on the matches and cut down on cheats and impostors, this has been going well so I see no reason to change that part.

There are few things you will have to bear in mind though when we pick more N.American hosts, one is that when organising the servers for the weekend, there will not be a choice on which server you can play on. This is the same for European matches and mostly depends on if the Host (which is normally one of the NFBL clans) is also playing at the same time. Another is N.America is very big, so a Host in one part of the country may be good for some but not good for others.

I'm currently working on a new NFBL site that will have many features, one of which is that it will show which Host will be used for the match, so this will in some part be helpful in picking in the teams that you want to play in the match.

i strngly disagree 009, that server is one indeed one of the laggiest i've ever played in even if im from mexico i've played good canadian servers with ping of 110,130 not that high. even noramericans such as vs have been getting a real bad ping on the server, i already suggested to my leaders that we let a member from our clan to host n.a matches for all but then they will deal with you, thing is that we should not at all use that one, i appreciate the person is letting us use it but its no good. i propose that nfbl members let that nor americans make their servers official so you can have some sort of control over it with the settings you properly made. elrussian@gmail.com

I played all matches with CSS versus VS in the usa server, only 1 match(the space match) was really laggy for everybody for the rest VS player have 80-120 ping. css have 150-200 ping. I have no idea why they complain about it.

Leave it to CSS to exaggerate for themselves, naturally. VS players lagged out repeatedly and had 200-300 pings throughout the game. I don't know where you got 80-120 from.

look on screenshots and serverlogs it will show that euro CSS members had higher pings then VS members but well i dont wanna make a fight of it. VS members lagged out, yea prolly more then CSS members but i dunno why they lagged out because they had better pings:s.

It's probably because of the servers bad connection :s. Like i said 009 USA clans dont mean to offend your server but its not giving us any advantage to play in those servers wich you sometimes or not forget to turn on. WAR has already sent a request to make official one of our members server in order to be used along the N.A Matches we held. I dont see no reason not to accept it and recognize it as official if everyone's gonna have the same control over this servers and the setting you guys have proposed wouldnt be in the way to change them by anyone if perhaps the only settings that would be fixed should be maxspeed and i dont see another one to move maybe the name. So why shouldnt Nor Americans have a variety of servers with BETTER connections regardless of wherever you are connecting from because you and i know that deppends on how much speed we got on our dsl , cable etc to servers such as the server need to have a good connection to be able to host for 8 , 10 players. Give Americans a variety , dont leave us on the exilum just because you forget about us.

Most of these comments are being made because you are not understanding the replies.

1. Suppa said that Space Station match was laggy, (which has been explained) all the other matches VS players had pings of 80 - 120, not the Space Station match had 80 - 120 pings.

2. To Date I have received 1 request from a player to become a host for the NFBL in N.America. If WAR have sent a request, I'm sorry but I have not received it yet.

3. We are getting more hosts as I said in my first reply. As of now CID[UM] has kindly agreed to host for the NFBL, I have to reply to CV BOSS who has asked and also I am waiting for a reply from another player if they can host too? that's YAZ.

4. There is nothing wrong with the current host we have and we will be keeping him as one of the options for hosting in N.America. I have monitored the pings over the last couple of weeks and they have been good for N.American players 50 - 120.
