The Catacombs of Paris were featured on Scariest Places on Earth. The catacombs is a graveyard of the city, which is now an extensive underground series of tunnels.

On the television show, Scariest Places on Earth, the catacombs featured the story of a man who traveled down through the tunnels who was never found. They found his video camera, which showed him exploring the tunnels, but eventually getting lost and quickly terrified as he ran for his life to find a way out. He dropped his camera and his body was never discovered.

The tunnels run for at least a total of 400 miles. Only a small portion of these tunnels are open to the general public for tourism.

My map consists of a few layers of tunnels and a large maze to get to the opponent's flag.

The map is a bit large and you will get lost from time to time, but I was playing the map with Anderson and Zigg one day and I expected the score to tie at 0-0 after we each got the flag and then couldn't find each other.

But I was wrong and we did run into each other a lot and the score tied at 2-2. So at least there was some action.

personally i cant stand maps where your main challenge is the map itself, and not the enemy your against.

i think for the idea you had was a smaller map, but a lot darker (its underground, remember) - a sort of cross between dm_maint what you have there, but smaller.

I think a good map idea would be a small close quarters shotgun area in the dark.

well yeh i was gona say that it looks a bit light for being underground, as in reality i would also use ramps instead of steps and i would put water but... i dont think u can make water murkey in nightfire...

looks very interesting though, one idea could be to make more than 1 flag and spread them out a bit :wink:

map does look awesome though, uve done a great job dude, keep it up and i hope it ends up lookin as much like reality as possible, i would advise an ambient_generic with some eerie music set to play everywhere just to show players what kind of map they're dealing with :wink:

you can prob, i used to have a mod where all my water in nf was blood.. before my pc went homo ;). caviar looked good lol.

yeah, if a mapper made it so the water was dirty in his map, it would be dirty in all maps. but not a whole lot of maps have water, so it wouldnt be a huge thing people would care about.

zero u said u know nothing about mapping... a MODDER would edit the images used in the water surface models... the models can be made to use their own texture so that it wont affect other maps :wink:

yea, but you said you couldnt change water models, so it would have to be done by modding textures, which the mapper would do, to make the right water in his map.

Can't a map script thingy be made to change the water to murky by changing the water texture to murky?

how about makin your own water skin / texture.

zero changed 1 to blood, so just copy paste that 1, rename it and use it in the map.

problem solved
