Making .exe

Postby DeadMan on Thu May 15, 2008 3:13 am

I was wondering if anyone here could explain the best way to make a .exe for a map I'm working on.

Although I know how to move files to the correct places with a .zip, I know most people have trouble with this. Some maps in NF are .exe and everything is done for you.

I'd like to be able to make a .exe that moves the necessary files for the user. This being for those people who would not use NFBSP Client Map Downloader.

Next question would be when I finish the map, how could I get it on that list?

if you open the nfbsp client, and click the map download tab
there should be something like "upload to glovi.net"
you can also compile your map with the client, it will auto search all the used textures for your map and put m all in a .zip

ask ulti, he's the .exe "pro" :p

For uploading the map, you can only do it with DSS2, get it and in configuration, choose the map to upload and press in "Administrate Map", then press Compress and Upload and it will be published. By the way, be sure that what you release is a final version.

well u can make an installer if u have a full package of windows visual studio (like ford) or (like me) u can use installaware, no real limits and its free and fun and easy to use  www.installaware.com download studio admin cuz that allows u 2 edit the installers most and play around  but beware, it is more than 100MB i think... tres also uses an install program maker but its not as pwntage as installaware
