Hosting - DSS2 secured and Client

Postby CV-FreaX on Fri Mar 28, 2008 11:36 am

hi, if i host a dss2 secured server, my client shows it "not dss2, not secured", but if i enable "kick if not joined with client" then it kicks me even if i join with the client (probably the client thinks its not secured so joins normal)... so the problem is that it doesnt mark my server secured, even if it is..

Sounds like you didnt portforward the DSS port. Portforward the port 26026(aka the DSS2 port), protocol UDP. Unless you do that, DSS's Client to Server functions wont work.

Well if you dont have a router, then allow the firewall requests if you have one firewall. If you have ZoneAlarm firewall, change its security settings to Medium or it will block those connections.

It's written in the Readme, and in the DSS Guide too
