Glitch in voting process

Postby DeadMan on Thu Feb 28, 2008 7:18 am

I was just watching the server and there was someone who actually knew how to start a vote and he found a way to bypass the voting process.

http://www.freewebs.com/dmcrulz/changelevel.bmp

You'll notice he typed wait;host_changelevel and it just did it, then after changing to the desired level, it said not enough votes.

Just figured you should see this one.

I went back into the game and took away my admin rights to test it.

It was the wait; before the command that did it. I was able to change levels, gravity, anything. Even commands on the forbidden command list. I could change the server's rcon password.

I tried adding wait to the list of forbidden commands and it still allowed me to make changes. Only difference was that after typing !cmd wait;sv_gravity 50 it didn't post the voting process messages. Instead, all it did was <D> says wait

If this isn't new to you, I'm sorry for bringing it up again. But if so, take a look into it for your next update.

I have tested that command myself and it didn't work, but I guess it happened because many people tried to open more than one voting subprocess in DSS, I will check that anyway

I don't have a screenshot of myself trying it.

But I'm telling you I joined the game a little later and tried it out with a whole much of combinations.

I undid my administrator status and started a vote. When I did the wait and a colon ( ; ) then the command, it always did whatever I wanted.

I'd be surprised if this only happened on my server.
