The disaster behind 'ty' :Z

Postby |-CSS-|CoMuNiSt on Sun Jul 01, 2007 1:10 pm

Since a long time i wanted to put this point across, to justify my feelings about a problem that i face; but im not sure if others do so.
As most may well be aware of, from scrims and pubic servers, the meaning behind the letters 'ty' has become evil. Always arrogant people use ty without even being said 'ns'. there are even examples where players have said 'ty' to when they died at that moment :S. i guess its a stratergy to put the enemy off from his concentration, but its sucks man!
What i wanted to say is, in these last months/weeks, when someone says to me 'ns' im worried to say 'ty' becuase i wonder wether it will seem arrogant, as these players e.g. (crazy1_4life,Psycho and etc) have changed the respectful meaning to some new evil meaning. sometimes i dont even wanna say 'ns' because i think the player will boast about or 'seem' cool/leet by saying 'ty' to me. I just hate it, this thing will lower the respect between players and make them angrier within and after a match. or atlest i dont like them changeing 'ty'. We ( I ) want to enjoy a loose or a win in a scrim, if i (which i do most times) end up with a headache/ red face/shouting/punching the desk/ 1 or 2 times tears coming out of my eyes even after loosing a match, whats the damm point of this game then :S
idk/idc if anyone has a point about this, its just a topic which i wanted to talk about, and i feel better now that i did :)
'ty' for reading i guess, but i aint sure how you think of me saying 'ty' :S

I msut say I agree with him..I have done this before 4-5 months ago:Saying Ty although he/she didnt even say NS.It's a way of showing that you are arrogant and a *****....in my eyes.In my opinion it's better to say NS and TY only when you really feel and mean them not all the time like some do....They say those things only to impress but the real meaning is:"Buzz off mate!!Leave me alone with your NS/TY" .I suggest we start thinking more about how we act during games and what we say and when we say those things. Its betetr to be realistic and not to overdoit with such words because they become meaningless if we use them to often and if we dont mean it....
Alll I can say is:Good topic Comu and let's hope that many will state their opinion

If you want to say 'ty' 'thx' 'gg' or what ever as compliment, I think you should and try not to worry about how other people may react to it. If somebody says back to you 'noob, to your 'ty' then they have got the wrong end of stick and you can say back to them 'it was a compliment' or similar and if they still say 'yeah right  ' then it is their problem.

Likewise if somebody says to you 'ty' and your not sure how they are meaning it, just ignore it and try not to worry about it or you will end up in a right tizwas  :hide: .

I dont think "ty" is an issue, as its only two letters.. and it cant really affect anyone, definetly not as much as insults etc.

That's all involved to those "leet" players talk, we can make a list of what they say: GG, ty, .,. pwnt, ;), ;Z, ;>, stfu...
those are all related to arrongance, and well, the use of a word by line too. Thanks god that NF contains the spamdelay command :)
